Abstract
The article discusses the study of the socioeconomic profile of the Mayors of brotherhood in Chascomús, between 1808 and 1821. This includes the identification and analysis of economic activities played them as well as the characterization of their ties to the local social framework. Based on the analysis of cases of resignation and conflicts in appointments, is trying to establish the most important standards were considered for the election of mayors in this Party, highlighting the importance of local conflicts in the constitution and exercise of authority in this instance of rural campaign
