The founding period of the Secretarí­a de Trabajo y Previsión (1943-1946): first organizational steps and relevant figures

Abstract

Through the analysis of a range of state documents, biographies and specialized publications, among others, this article aims at reconstructing the first organizational steps of the Labour and Social Security sphere during the military government of 1943-1946, when after several decades of functioning of the Departamento Nacional del Trabajo, labour issues acquired a renewed importance in terms of state organization. In this period, several figures, beyond the names of Juan Perón and his most well- known contributors, helped to build the basis of the new Secretarí­a de Trabajo y Previsión.
