Abstract

Thewriting of history in theearly stages of the Mexican State’s construction was affected by multiples negative factors as political inestability and foreign invasions; nevertheless,there were different efforts for considering theutility and neccesity of a national history, as also the urgency of implementing institutions to create and promote the conditions for studyng this national history.This paper will analyze the efforts of the Sociedad Mexicana de Geografí­a y Estadí­stica, Manual Larrainzar’s proposal and the México a través de los siglos publication.
