The protagonism of the “chorus”: Jose Luis Romero and the question of the masses

Abstract
This essay reviews and analyzes JLR's different approaches to the problem of the masses in contemporary society, from the first approaches marked by the philosophical and political debates of his time, to a later approach based on social history that characterized the final years of his career. The study analyzes how his interpretation of this issue changed at different moments of his career in the heat of different historical transformations and the evolution of his intellectual concerns.
